Roberta K. Specht, age 61, of West Elkton, Ohio, died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, OH. Born on October 24, 1944 in Middletown, Butler County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Floyd & Evelyn (Guess) Hartzog. Roberta was a 1962 Middletown High School graduate and retired in 2005 after 25 years of service as a Secretary for the Preble Shawnee Middle School.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years: Fred W. Specht; Daughters: Amy Lynn Sanger of Apex, NC and Kathy M. Holtman of St. Louis, MO; Brother: William Hartzog of Montreal, Canada; 5 Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 7:00 PM Friday, October 27, 2006 at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Ron Sparks officiating. Interment will be in Fairmound Cemetery - West Elkton, OH. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Preble County Humane Society - P.O. Box 72 - Eaton, OH 45320 in dedication for her love for pets.
